Careers at Marmalade
We currently have a full team at Marmalade of some long standing and very talented jewellers, designers, mounters, setters, sales people and valuers so we aren't actively recruiting.
However, we are always interested to meet and talk to people with no jewellery experience to fully qualified trade professionals who are keen to work with us here at Marmalade Fine Jewellery. Previous experience in the jewellery trade is generally preferred for all candidates however if you are currently looking for a change of career or returning to the workplace after a break and:
- You consider yourself positive, upbeat and energetic,
- Are a good listener with good communication skills.
- Consider yourself a relationship builder.
- You have a good sense of urgency
- You can handle setbacks in your stride
- You are willing to take a risk
- And love to work with beautiful products.
We would like to meet or talk with you if you have experience in the jewellery trade or not.

We also have a history of encouraging work experience placements within the store environment and would consider apprentices also.
We take our team professionalism and knowledge very seriously here at Marmalade. Team members are expected to achieve the highest level of training and education that they can, during their time with us.
After at least 2 interviews we will put you through a 12 week induction process with rigorous testing and re-testing during your probationary period.
The final test must be passed with a score of over 80% to pass through into a full time permanent team member.
Following your probationary period all sales staff will be required to take your NAJ, JET 1 in the following 12 months and JET 2 the year after.
We then encourage all our team to take training courses and achieve personal fulfilment in areas of the jewellery trade that are of specific interest to them.
For example, Gem-A gemmology and diamond training, sales and advances sales training, hallmarking seminars, valuation seminars, diamond grading courses are all courses that the team here have been on courtesy of Marmalade.
Sales are of course paramount and everyone at Marmalade are expected to attempt to achieve sales targets but there are good financial and personal rewards for those that do.
